My family is a little too much like this family in The Postal Service's video.
We make our own jam, we eat fruit leathers like no ones business, we all go for hikes or bike rides, we have picnics on the top of mountains, we bring our own food (specifically fruit and veg) everywhere. My dad tucks in his shirts, all the time. My mom makes clothes for us. We have the exact fruit dryer as they have...
the similarity is hilarious.

knee
So I haven't been able to run since sunday because my knee has been killing me. I ran twice yesterday, and felt decent. But couldn't even manage 3 miles today...I am a very UNhappy camper.
and of coarse this happens the day right after I had 2 runs, and was very looking forward to my second run. I think this means I am slightly crazy.

Merry Christmas!
Buddy got her own pile of presents! And even one from Toby!
We got a ginormous tree this year!

Completely late, but I haven't had time to really write. I'm not even sure what I was so busy doing, to be completely honest.
But it was a nice christmas. I wasn't really in the mood for Christmas, like I feel I was in last year. I think last year me and the Waco Fam did more christmas oriented things. Or I just spend a whole lot more time with Jacob, who totally got me in the Christmas mood last year.
These pictures helped get me in the mood.

I'm so excited for Natalie to come back!

I missed her this semester! I can't wait for the days and days of girl time we will have! The boys are great, but I realized I need some girl time every once and a while.
And she is an art major! so I hopefully will get to spend lots of time with her in class!!!! And we can have our healthy dinners or granola making parties!
She is also the bravest girl I know. She had her hair dreaded into gorgeous long big dreads, and then cut them off after a while, and is completely rocking the pixie cut she has! Girls who can pull off short hair cuts are my heros! because I totally want one!
my family has become total california hippies without knowing it

After living in California for 13 and 1/2 years, my family has turned away from our East-coastness completely and fully embraced the life of California granola.
There are many reasons and examples I could say as to show this. I'll go with something that happened today. We all went to see Sherlock Holmes (excellent movie!!!!) as a family, and instead of buying food at the theater (partly because it is outrageously expensive, but mostly because it is super unhealthy) we all brought fruit to the movie. Pears, apples, and even grapefruit for robbie. =)
While the other movie goers were munchly loudly on popcorn and candy, slurping down sugar ladened soft drinks; we sipped on water in our refillable water bottles and ate our fruit.
We also have our own orcherid and garden, that most of our summer dinners come from. We eat very little meat, and even less non-organic food products. Very little products with artificial ingredients can be found in our house.
I do love this about my family.

One reason I love being home...
Italian Market Pasta...

My grandma and grandpa flew in from Philly yesterday, and they brought with them freshly made pasta from the Italian Market. It was the most fantastic pasta I have had since being in Italy in 2000.
We just had a party with our West Coast family (which is a family we know from my dad's work partner). I love this family. Every single one of them!
Also I am all done Christmas shopping and making. If that makes sense. I made most of the christmas presents this year. They are easy and I figure I love homemade gifts more than anything else, so ya...

night with my favorite girls
We saw a horrible rendition of the Nutcracker, but it was nice to spend some time with my two favorite girls. And little kids played alot of the parts, like the mice! Sooo insanely cute!
Also buddy is loving being home, she isn't super fond of Toby but she loves her time outside and getting to be around lots of people.
I went for an awful run today...it hurt bad.

I am done with Science as of today. I am all done taking stupid science classes! Oh the joy, of being an art major!
Walking out of that Bio final, was so glorious! I failed it terribly but I am done with it! And I am done with Chem !
Oh the Glory, of being done!

Our War
We battled last night. Our weapons were balls, empty soda cans and bottles, sweatshirts, a banana, febreeze, airsoft gun (ben), a container of dressing, spatula, make-shift pizza box shields, knifes, and anything else we deemed necessary. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Ben fell to the ground gracefully and slowly, landing on the trash can, which was hilarious. We kept switching the teams up, but it was fantastic!

let's sleep in a pile every night...

It was gangster movie night last night. We feel alseep after first watching Bottle Rocket (not a gangster movie I know), but during Public enemys. It was a big family sleep over. It was so fun! Dan slept sang, ryan mumbled a little and snored like crazy, and Connor...haha well it was a battle to keep his arms and legs off me.
I love this family!

First Snow Fall
Yesterday, we had our first snow fall of the season. It started at noon, and lasted for about an hour. It was super fantastic! The flakes were big, and stuck to our noses and face and hair!

Thursday night dinners at Jasons
I have been very down and out this week. Going out to dinner with the xc girls at jasons was a good pick me up.
Christmas on 5th street was alright, I wasn't expecting to find something I found there.
But Anyways. Ben Rector was entertaining, charming, and super talented. The petting zoo saw some action. The donkey kicked a sheep. And we got a family picture by the christmas tree!

Royal

The Royal Tenenbaums....my new favorite movie. Wed Anderson did a fantastic job writing and directing this one. The casting director also got the perfect people for the different characters. I like Anderson's films, they are always creative. I especially like this one, because the different family members are so outrageous, and I like that the family is disfunctional. Everything comes together in the end, which I don't really like. I like movies that are not predictable and not everyone ends up together and happy, it seems more like real life to me I guess.
i hate going home
