I want to take you far...

from the cynics in this town.
And Kiss you on the mouth...

Laying on the grass outside in the warm winter sun. Can be a perfect setting.

early morning song...

As I was walking back to my car from my very unsuccessful run at around 7 in the morning...there seemed to be a very unusual amount of birds waking up at just that time. They all awoke upon seeing the rays from the cold winter sun. They woke up singing, beautiful songs that tickled my ears with pleasure! Their sweet songs seemed to be something more befitting to a spring or summer morning. Either way is was a melodious surprise!

drawn picture soon to come.

A perfect Tuesday....Snowball fight and date!

I woke up this morning to a text from Courtney that said "SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!". I look out my window to see small flakes drifting down from the white sky. I laid at the foot of my bed, face pressed up against my window while I drifted in and out of sleep.

As the hours past the snow piled higher and higher. And at noon they announced the school was closing at 2. This did me no good since My class was done at 10:45 .

At this 2 o'clock hour we commenced on campus for an epic snowball fight. I think this was my true snow ball fight, since all the ones previous had been when I was a tiny kiddie. It was fun, except for the fact that I lacked gloves.

So the night I have been waiting for all week....the date with Jeff was so awesome! He is such a perfect gentleman! We had dinner at the Olive Garden and then saw Shutter Island. It was a fantastic time! This is honestly the only first date I ever remember going on. For as nervous as I was, there was nothing to be nervous about. He was so sweet and great!
And when I get back to the Outpost to the boys they all get so excited and drilled me how it went. They made each other get quiet (which is quite a feet for them) and they sat me down and asked me how it was. Very sweet and funny of them to do.

Preface to Dorian Gray

The artist is the creator of beautiful things. To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim. The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things. The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty. There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.The nineteenth century dislike of romanticism is the rage of Caliban not seeing his own face in a glass. The moral life of man forms part of the subject-matter of the artist, but the morality of art consists in the perfect use of an imperfect medium. No artist desires to prove anything. Even things that are true can be proved. No artist has ethical sympathies. An ethical sympathy in an artist is an unpardonable mannerism of style. No artist is ever morbid. The artist can express everything. Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art. Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art. From the point of view of form, the type of all the arts is the art of the musician. From the point of view of feeling, the actor's craft is the type. All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital. When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself. We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely.

All art is quite useless.

I sort of forgot what butterflies felt like....

I know this is way late for me to be up this semester. But when you get the chance to snuggle with the ever handsome Jeff...a good rule of thumb is to stay in that situation as long as possible. One because we hardly see Jeff, and two I love to snuggle!

He also asked me out on a date. =)

Saturday morning...

I usually spend my saturday mornings dozing in and out, eating breakfast, and snuggling with buddy...all in bed. And around noon or one i get out of bed.
This saturday I got breakfast at cafe cap with Caitlyn! It was such a fun time! Talking, laughing, eating.
And when i came home i spent a half an hour on the floor playing and petting buddy. I haven't just laid on the floor and petted her for a long long time. Sometimes I forget how soft she is, or how much she loves to give me kisses.

Thursday night Jason's deli

Every Thursday night, me and my running buddies go get Jason's deli for dinner. It's such a fabulous time for me! It's the one time a week I get with other fit, healthy, athletic people and we just talk. A lot about exercise and food, and races and who ran what. It's a very nice change of pace for me, since my lovely darling boys make fun of me for being so tired all the time and don't understand why I work out so much. (not that I dislike them for it....we do a lot of making fun of)

sick so soup

tortellini soup! I have been feeling kind of on and off my nut the past week and a half. This helped me feel better and warm me up...the past week has been freezing everyday.

a learned how to edit my photos!

I like to think they aren't half bad

We were promised snow...

and after some rain, and hardcore sleet. Brandon looks outside and yells "i think it's snowing now!"...large, huge, beautiful, flaky, white snowflakes started coming down! it was magical. the flakes stuck to our hair, clothes, face, cars. It came down so quickly that within a few minutes we were throwing snowballs at each other.

The snow lasted until friday...but school was NOT canceled. ALthough art history (my one class of the day) was canceled today...so i guess i still got a snow day. it that really counts.

It sounds like its raining pop-rocks!

also today, ran 6 miles, biked 21, and did an hour of yoga. Needless to say I'm crashing hard, but am very pleased with myself.

kicking butt in two ways...

so I totally dominated my art history test today. I counted and there was a total of 3 questions I did not know...this was out of almost 200 questions and an essay! It made me realize, I like studying and knowing I did well on a test...I haven't felt this in a while.

Also, I lost a little more than a month of solid bearathon training. I am running faster than I ever have, but I think I could have been even faster if I didn't have my IT band injury. So my challenge is getting in tip top shape in a month, increasing my average mile speed by a minute for a two hour race. I am mildly concerned that the last two years I have gotten a terrible week-long case of the flu the last week in Feb. I need to be super cautious so I don't get that again, because if I do...I might just be lucky if I finish the bearathon. My goal is under 2 hours. I feel this is a good goal, for doing alot of treadmill running, not lots of hills, my first race that is longer than 3 miles, and my first race in 5 years.

Also Buddy gets her stitches out tomorrow!!!! I'm so happy for her, I feel like this will help her get back to normal....her hair just has to grow.

this weekend

I have been sick the past two days. I'm hoping I'll feel totally better by tomorrow, so I can get back to my running and workout schedule, and feel good enough to study for art history.

Over ripe bananas always prompts banana muffin making! I added chocolate chips, fresh bananas, and walnuts to my trader joe's mix!!!! They were soo fantastic right out of the oven, I downed four, and called Robbie and made him come over and eat some....this is probably the best thing I have made this year by far!

Dan and I watched Fargo last night. The accents made the movie fantastic! Now that is our new accent we insist on talking in!

Superbowl....i studying for art history, and recieved and gave back rubs to and from Connor. My back hurt from being sick....it feels sooo much better!!!!

Also for housing, I decided on the duplex! I really want a backyard. I hate always being couped up in here. The other places I looked at didn't have porches or outside areas. I'm so excited! Erika is like my favorite girl at Baylor...she is so opposite the typical Baylor girl. She's so chill and nondemanding, and genuine. She also always wears dresses and skirts! SOo classy, and beautiful!

Also me and roommate Katie have had a good, fun weekend together! I've been laying low cuz of Buddy and being sick, and She has been good fun company!

whole foods run...

When I picked up Buddy in Austin, Mom and I made a whole foods run. I was super out of food, only had cereal left...needless to say I loaded up big time!!!!!

I've been eating yummy organic goodies all week long!!!

Buddy got cut up

She got spayed monday, and it was SOOOOOO sad to go without her for a day and a half. Bedtime, is very different without a beautiful bunny sprinting across the room and leaping into bed to snuggle with me as we fall asleep. Also seeing her in pain moping around the next couple days was awful. I had to bring her to the vet Thursday, because she was super dehydrated and I got her lots of meds which made her feel SOOOOOOO much better!

She is fully better as of today. I know this because she is back to her shenanigans....she knocked over my glass of OJ (and licked it up) and then jumped into a box that had her crate on top of it?

When you are here you are Family...

Last saturday night we had Gangster/Mobster movie night. We dressed up, went to the olive garden, and the boys talked like Italian gangsters ALL night long. They made up alter ego's as well: Ryan was tony? (i dont really remember), Connor was Gino, Ben was Tommy, and I was dollface, and broad.

let's just say it was a dinner show for me. =)

and all the boys looked terribly handsome all dressed up.
